If you’re saving up for a rainy day, then perhaps March 8 will be the rainy day you’re looking for. That’s because Glee: The Music: Volume 5 will be available for purchase that day, bringing 16 new tracks to Gleeks around the world.
Judging from the list, upcoming songs include “Kiss” and “Landslide” (both making an appearance during the Gwyneth Paltrow episode, “Sexy”). “Loser Like Me” and “Get It Right” close out the latest album and both songs offer something that Glee does best: Pop energy and Lea Michele (Rachel). “Loser Like Me” is an ensemble song co-written by Max Martin (Britney Spears, P!nk), while “Get It Right” will be a “moving ballad” performed by Lea. The original songs will be performed in the March 15 episode.
Glee: The Music: Volume 5 will feature the following:
1. Thriller / Heads Will Roll
2. Need You Now
3. She’s Not There
4. Fat Bottomed Girls
5. P.Y.T. (Pretty Young Thing)
8. Somebody To Love
9. Take Me Or Leave Me
11. Don’t You Want Me
12. Do You Wanna Touch Me (Oh Yeah)
15. Get It Right
16. Loser Like Me
Fox is so into Glee that they’ve even decided to create a new reality series in the spirit of their hit show.
Howie Mandel is set to host Mobbed, a reality series that uses flash mobs to spread good news.
To wit: If you were planning to propose marriage to your longtime partner, the show would train you and a group in the ways of performance and flash mobbing, and then surprise your significant other with a flash mob proclaiming the good news. Fox calls these “pranks,” but they really seem more wholesome and awesome than that.
“It’s so exciting to be a part of this huge musical spectacle never before attempted on this scale,” Mandel said.
The show will premiere after American Idol on Thursday, March 31 at 9 p.m.
Good news and bad news, Gleeks. The good news is that star Mike O’Malley (Burt Hummel) is getting a new pilot on Fox. He’s been cast as the dad in Family Album, a sitcom about a family going on vacation, with each season telling the story of a separate trip. Ambitious! But what does this mean for Glee?
While Burt hasn’t appeared much very lately, he’s still a key component to the Kurt storyline. If the show gets picked up, Mike will certainly be busy — but Fox will allow him to work on both series at once. So fear not, Burt Hummel fans! Your favorite TV dad will still have some presence on Glee.
February is Black History Month! To celebrate, President Obama has invited many famous musical acts to the White House for a tribute to Motown Records — headlined by Smokey Robinson.
Don’t think Smokey is the only big star to appear though. In addition to Sheryl Crow, Jamie Foxx, Natasha Bedingfield, John Legend, Nick Jonas, Seal, Gloriana and Jordin Sparks, Glee’s Amber Riley and Mark Salling will perform too!
The festivities are set to air on March 1, 2011 on PBS. Don’t miss it!
While most artists are dying to be incorporated into the hit FOX show Glee, Justin Timberlake is not one of them.
The SexyBack singer said “no” to the show’s producers when they asked if his songs could be used in a future episode, according to Us. Ouch!
Glee producers reportedly took this as a “slap in the face,” a source tells the mag.
So far, the following artists have said yes: Rihanna, Queen, Journey, Britney Spears and Katy Perry … just to name a few.
“If I would’ve told my teenager self, I would’ve have freaked out. I’m just gonna block it out and pretend like he’s not who he is.” That’s what Lea Michele (Rachel) said last year about her kissing partner in New Year’s Eve, and now it appears that we’ve finally found out who the lucky guy is!
Spoiler, but not really: It’s Ashton Kutcher! Reportedly Lea and The Kutch will lock lips in the movie due in theaters this holiday season.
